Pulwama 8 February 2018 (KNO) : District Development Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar today made an extensive tour to Awantipora where the prestigious AIIMS project is coming up on 1772 kanals of land.
During the tour DDC was accompanied by ADC Pulwama Showkat Ahmad Rather, DPO ICDS, ADC Awantipora, ACR Pulwama, ACD Pulwama and Tehsildar Awantipora and other officials from the revenue department.
During his tour DDC Pulwama took extensive survey of the acquired land for AIIMS and the construction of approach road from main town Awantipora to Islamic university & AIIMS. He also made individual assessment of all the structures coming under the land acquisition process for setting up of AIIMS.
Later on DDC held an interaction with the public whose land and property has been acquired for construction of prestigious AIIMS project and patiently listened to their grievances.
The land owners demanded that the adequate compensation should be paid to the farmers / other persons whose land and property is acquired for construction of prestigious AIIMS project. They appealed to DDC for the reassessment of these structures so that due compensation may be provided to the owners as per prevailing market rates.
They also demanded reservation in various jobs in the said institution.
DDC assured to the public that all their genuine demands will be fulfilled and directed the authorities to go for proper assessment of all the structures coming under this project.(KNO)
